Terms of Use

Last updated: June 9, 2026

Foxglove is a free tool made by an independent artist to help other artists protect their work from AI. By using the Foxglove website or app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What Foxglove does

Foxglove processes images entirely on your device — stripping metadata, embedding a hidden steganographic signature, and applying adversarial perturbation intended to disrupt AI training. Your images never leave your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

No guarantee of protection

Foxglove is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. AI systems — and the methods used to defeat protections — change constantly. We do not guarantee that protected images cannot be viewed, described, copied, or used to train AI, or that any watermark or perturbation will survive editing, compression, or future techniques. Foxglove is designed to reduce and complicate misuse, not to guarantee against it. Please don't rely on Foxglove as your only safeguard for high-stakes work.

Your work stays yours

You keep all rights to the images you process. Foxglove claims no ownership of — and never receives a copy of — your images or anything you create with the tool.

Acceptable use

Intellectual property

Foxglove — including its code, design, name, and branding — is the property of its maker. All rights reserved. Using the tool doesn't grant you any rights to the software itself.

Third-party services

The iOS app is distributed through the Apple App Store, subject to Apple's terms. The website uses FormSubmit.co to process the optional email sign-up form, and Vercel for hosting and anonymous analytics. Optional donation links point to third-party platforms (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Ko-fi). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foxglove and its maker are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the tool, including any failure of the protection to prevent AI use of your work.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use Foxglove after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
